Lauren Laverne on style: dressing gowns

I am an omnivore of style: i love all kinds of clothes and that'll learn lessons on what to wear wherever possible. I am interested in fashion, but it is very much the outline herby atop the main aesthetic course rather than the plate itself. This week I'm going to talk about what Cherie Blair can teach all of us to get dressed (Please read). I can't say I often make aesthetic notes when I'm catching up on current affairs – aside from occasionally wishing Putin would put her top back on – but May 12, 1997, when Mrs. Blair opened the door in front of a guy and also flower delivery since the accident, the international press has shown how important it is to have a dressing gown.

I am not mistaken for someone who would have objected to Cherie's right to kick back in his sleep tee Tatty Teddy, or even put on the doorstep in it if you want. It's just that obviously was not, and as such this incident illustrates the only question aimed at those who want to dress well: how to make clothes an appropriate buffer between themselves and their lives. The contents of the wardrobe of a person should make it more comfortable (in both senses of the word) and the day to day easier; Beyond that it's all the fun stuff like expressing themselves and communicating a message to the world. In the case of Mrs. Blair, having woken up married to the Prime Minister (side note: would someone please write the romcom that follows this trim?) suddenly demanded something more substantial to answer the door in. When it comes to style, needs are the starting point, and should follow fashion.

Of course the rest of us are unlikely to run into a bank by paparazzi when we open the front door, but having something nice to wear when you're padding around the House is a pleasure all its own. Is one of the few times when what you're wearing is all about you and how this is a chance to say something to yourself (if that "Are" or "still got it" is up to you). As the mother of small children, I find that morning (or evening with my feet to watch Mad Men) are much more fun when I wear something that makes me happy. If you minded your style down, here are a few buy to try.

Good morning beautiful and Verry Kerry are great options for ethical shoppers. Both are beautiful kimono in natural fabrics, as opposed to mixtures of poly you'll find elsewhere (Verry's daywear Kerry is definitely worth a visit, too). On high street, the head of M's Limited, Rosie & for autograph or B by Ted Baker with Debenhams. For simple, chic style label test Figleaves, which is very Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein. Or invest in a piece of cute Eberjey Jersey to Net a Porter.
