I think Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh can easily be called the poster girls for this fun style,” says hairstylist Anu Kaushik.

Meanwhile, young girls in the city, too, are game for this messy style and are thronging salons to get the look. “Girls who come to get their hair styled these days want messy and relaxed styles. The perfect, clean updos are almost passe now, especially for quirk-loving youngsters,” says hair and makeup expert, Ambika Pillai. But the seemingly low maintenance hairstyle also requires a bit of effort, points out hairstylist Richa Agarwal. “You need to back comb and scrunch your hair to get the look right.”
