Antonio Marras unveiled his new collection at Milan Fashion Week! Check out the designer's never-seen-before creations and '50s-inspired silhouettes!
The Antonio Marras fall 2013 collection was definitely one of the main points of attraction at Milan Fashion Week! The craftsmanship, the richness and the wide range of embellishments were mixed in order to obtain an exquisite array of jaw-dropping combos.“What interested me most was their eccentricity and the fact that they rejected fashion and were absolutely not interested in what was happening in the world, but rather in creating their own,” the designer said backstage.
Antonio Marras is renowned for his amazing power to reinvent the retro aesthetic and spice it up with some modern touches. He takes shapes and textures and gives them a whole new look. Well, the latest Antonio Marras fall 2013 collection is one good example in this sense. It seems that the famous designer was inspired by Bloomsbury Set, a group of associated English writers, intellectuals, philosophers and artists, members of which also include Virginia Woolf.
Therefore, the Antonio Marras fall 2013 collection featured '50s-inspired silhouettes which were elegant with a contemporary flare. Once again, the designer proves why he is worthy being called “poet of dressing” and “storyteller of fashion”. The clothes, the set, everything was perfectly balanced in order to get a jaw-dropping range.
“Everything can originate in me the inspiration: an object I come across, a music, an unexpected meeting, a souvenir, something a friend told me on the phone…everything, every visual impulse, every form and matter of artistic, craft, raw or artificial nature, everything in short, even without any evident reason, can arouse my interest, becoming a source of inspiration,” Marras told No Name mag.
So, if there is one thing that we learned from the new Antonio Marras fall 2013 collection is to push our wardrobes into new territory. Well, the line featured beautifully-printed dresses, houndstooth jackets, skirts, sweaters and capes with romantic floral prints. Have a nosey!
