Lead two different lives. Later in the week, I live in a small village that does nothing in the middle of nowhere. It is beautiful – all fields and green and there are pigs in the garden – but there is only one pub and that is your lot. If you want shopping, is a unit.
Over the weekend, my wife and I to go drag racing. Is total acceleration over a quarter of a mile, so you see the race from start to finish. We run into a van VW 1966 Split Screen blue and white. From the outside it looks normal, but inside it had a 2.4 engine running on nitrous oxide and methanol. It goes bang, basically.
Drag racing is the opposite of country life. All music is strong, loud noises, massive engines, a lot of paint, lots of chrome. Everything is great and at sea. Is full-on. Let's go to Santa Pod in Bedfordshire, England, one of the largest drag racing events in Europe. We drive down on Friday after work and camp for the weekend.
You have to go toBug Jamin the month of July. Is a VW weekender and it's crazy. We run every day, then do barbecue, have something to eat and enjoy a few beers. There are excellent curtains, curtains of comedy ... you won't ever need to anything. Especially not friends. We've all pretty much grew up with each other, so it's like one big family.
Drag racing is a culture. A way of life. Most of us eat, live and breathe cars. Trying to talk to us than anything else, and we didn't have much to say.
