While we're waiting for Kate and William to emerge on the steps of the Lindo wing of St. Mary's hospital with royal baby in her arms, another memorable image on the same procedure comes to mind. Charles and Diana Lindo-ala-to-lens paparazzi moment since 1982. What immediately strikes the image is how smart is the trio of Windsor. No new father bleary-eyed and scruffy jeans for Charles was a dress and a hat abruptly parted for more shareholder S.A.R – city of maternity suite.
Diana is admirably look pulled together. Perfect hair, glowing cheeks and a dress that, although helpless at the time, the alarm with his personal style at that time. Diana did pregnancy with giant collars and favored a polka dot floaty, so she stuck with that formula on the steps Lindo. The tights material must have been a bit annoying in June and the shoes (if we are really nit picking) are a little Red Riding Hood but clothes suggest that she is at ease despite intense circumstances.
As well as William and Kate will look Lindo? Perfect hair are a given (not him), as is their understanding of how long this photograph will float around, that means the look will be stage-managed to the last degree. They did not leave the hospital with a Maxi-Cosi car seat, suit bottoms and thongs, nor will the sunglasses and Hats as showbiz royalty. Our best guess is this: royal child Ecru cashmere, will make smart modern father William in pale blue shirt sleeves rolled up, chinos and shoes laces – despite the heat. Kate will make a pistachio high-street dress with a printed rug style scarf around his neck (an update on pashmina style) with dancers. Without balloons. There is a lot to consider before leaving the hospital: heatwave Britain, recession, legacy of Lindo, trying "in touch". It's a challenge of postpartum fashion that would feel like.
